BE CAREFUL HOW YOU CHOOSE A FAITH GROUP,
BECAUSE THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES!

As you move your finger across the seemingly endless names of churches and other religious organizations in the phonebook, how do you decide which one (if any) to stop on? Most large cities have religious groups with names starting with the letter A and one or more starting with the letter Z. So, from A-Z among these religious groups, by what means should they be evaluated?
First things first, are they exclusively a Bible believing group or organization that makes a profession of Salvation based on the correct plan of Salvation for today (1 Cor. 15:1-4; Eph. 1:13)?
If this is not the case, you should exclude them from any consideration. Secondly, if they are Bible correctors or Bible doubters, they are revealing to you that they do not esteem God's word to the same extent that He does (Psalm 138:2). Thirdly, what is their approach to understanding the Bible? Do they cherry-pick Bible verses by engaging in proof-texting (2 Cor. 4:2)? Does the group under consideration rightly divide the word of God (2 Tim. 2:15)? Lastly, is evangelism (getting the right Salvation message for today to the unsaved) and edification (teaching Believers how to grow and live out their faith using the Bible) their top priority (1 Tim. 2:3-4)?
It is a Bible fact that only God can read our motives (Prov. 21:2; 1 Thes. 2:4). Nonetheless, if you are one-hundred percent sincere, but wrong, particularly regarding Salvation for today, your eternal destiny will be Hell not Heaven. There is no local church membership requirement, it is strictly between you and God and it is exclusively based on what Jesus did, (His death, burial and resurrection on your behalf), not any secular or religious good works on your part. For Salvation today, God requires that you and I place our sincere (God's determination) faith in the finished work of Jesus to save our never-dying souls. Any other way is unacceptable to God (Gal. 1:8-9).
For your consideration (2Tim. 2:7).
